The 2010 International Krutyn Summer School – “Supramolecular Chemistry in Materials Science” - is organized by the FP7 ITN Marie Curie Project "FINELUMEN" - "Cavity-confined Luminophores for Advanced Photonic Materials: A Training Action for Young Researchers" in association with the Polish Supramolecular Chemistry Network, and the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
FINELUMEN Website
FINELUMEN is a 4-year project aiming at the preparation and characterization of luminescent materials in which suitably designed organic and inorganic luminophores are encapsulated within nano-containers (carbon nanotubes and coordination cages) in which they can preserve and even improve their emission output.
The School is conceived as a high-level and intensive scientific event focusing on cutting-edge know-how on supramolecular chemistry, materials chemistry and luminescence. It aims at a state-of-the-art training in the form of lectures and consulting sessions for Ph.D. students and young researchers seeking to reinforce their knowledge in these fields. Top experts will deliver lectures and consulting sessions. The school is intended both for people already active in this R&D field, as well as for those new to these areas. Except for the scientific part (lectures and consulting sessions), there will be a parallel evening “soft skills” programme for personal development. A number of social events will be also proposed to relax after scientific sessions, including: bonfire, excursion, guided or individual outdoor activities (kayaking, trekking, horse-riding, biking, etc.).
IMPORTANT: DEADLINES EXTENDED! Registration: May 20th Fee payment: May 30th
Limited number of scholarships
FINELUMEN Project will support (in part) participants whose financial situation does not allow them to pay full costs. 200 EURO will be offered to young researchers active in supramolecular science, provided they will deliver the following:
